About

Surrey International Writers' ConferenceCongratulations! You have found your way to the Greatest Writers' Conference* in the known universe!

The Surrey International Writers' Conference has spent the last twenty-one years creating an atmosphere of writers helping writers. It is here you will meet some of the world's best writers and storytellers, along with editors, agents, publishers, film makers, social media experts -- the list is endless! We have presenters and attendees who come here from around the world: Japan, Ireland, Switzerland, Scotland, England, and all over the US and every province in Canada, to learn, share and connect with other writers.

Every October we take over the Sheraton Guildford Hotel in north Surrey, British Columbia, and fill it with around 700 industry people. Our attendees, presenters, volunteers, staff and conference committee members converge to put on an intense weekend of workshops, panels, banquets and special events focused entirely on professional development for writers. It's a place to meet old friends, make new contacts and find out what it takes to be published in the brave new world we live in today. It is THE destination event of the year for many writers, and is not to be missed. It's our goal to give YOU the tools to become a published writer.

The conference is run as a not-for-profit society by a volunteer Board of Directors [you can read more about us on the People page] and less than a handful of staff. Our goal is to inspire, educate and motivate aspiring and experienced writers alike. We invite you to join our year-round community by following us on Twitter and Facebook or signing up for our newsletter.

See you there!

*At least this is what they tell us. Come join us — you can judge for yourself!
