The Lower Mainland lost a much-loved blogger this week. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Derek Miller. We didn't know him ourselves, but have an amazing number of "six degrees" connections with him, enough to tell us this guy was something special. Pete Martin of the Vancouver Sun writes about him, and his touching, poignant last blog, here: http://www.vancouversun.com/news/death+foretold+Burnaby+blogger+announces+death/4728489/story.html
SiWC presenter Robert McCammon writes about his experience of coming home to the aftermath of the Birmingham tornado here: http://www.robertmccammon.com/2011/05/03/the-silence-of-the-shock/
