Wednesday Welcome

Wednesday already? How did that happen?

Apologies for keeping you waiting for these today, but I hope you'll agree they're entirely worth the wait.

Reaching into the trusty hat... ahh, those two! Excellent. Lucky you.

First up today is the only SiWC presenter I'm aware of who's also been a Jeopardy! champion. Wouldn't you like to have that on your resume? Meet multi-talented author Boyd Morrison:

Boyd Morrison is a Seattle-based author, actor, engineer, and Jeopardy! champion. He started his career at Johnson Space Center, where he flew on NASA’s Vomit Comet, the plane used to train astronauts for zero gravity. He went on to earn a PhD from Virginia Tech, develop twelve patents at RCA, and manage a video game testing group at Microsoft before becoming a full-time writer. His debut thriller, THE ARK, became an international bestseller and has been translated into twenty languages. His other thrillers include THE CATALYST, THE VAULT, and ROGUE WAVE. Welcome, Boyd!

Second today is one of our terrific long-time supporters, the inimitable Jack Whyte:

When Jack Whyte figured out how the young Arthur pulled the sword out of the stone, he never imagined the revelation would lead to a long and successful career as a novelist. Twenty years after emerging from his basement with three completed manuscripts and no idea he'd ever get them published, he's the author of a much-loved, nine-book cycle of novels on the Arthurian legend and a highly successful, internationally-published trilogy on the history of the Knights Templar. He's now working on a trilogy of novels set in his native Scotland in the 14th Century, and dealing with Scotland's (and his own) three greatest heroes — William Wallace, (The Braveheart), King Robert the Bruce, and Sir James (the Black) Douglas. The first of these books, THE FOREST LAIRD, was released in 2010; the second, RENEGADE, will be out later this year.

Welcome back, Jack!
