First up, a special author event:
Authors Among Us at Guildford Library. [This is a new, free, events series focusing on local authors.]
Session 1: “Criminally Creative: different ways to write thrills and chills.”

Join our panellists to learn how each writer interprets mystery. Discover why each author uses elements of mystery, how they incorporate them into their work and their approach to creating suspense.
- Martin Crosbie is the author of the My Temporary Life Trilogy; the first of which became an Amazon bestseller.
- Sharon MacGougan wrote "The Mayan Mysteries", a novel based on a real life mystery – the disappearance of the ancient Maya. It’s also about the inner transformation of a young girl.
- Dennis E. Bolen is a novelist, editor, teacher and journalist. Dennis also uses video production to highlight his fiction and poetic works.

Ian Weir is an award-winning Langley playwright, screenwriter and novelist. He is the Creator and Executive Producer of the current CBC TV show Artic Air, the acclaimed miniseries Dragon Boys and the long-running teen drama series Edgemont. Ian has also written ten radio dramas and more than a dozen stage plays. His first adult novel, Daniel O'Thunder, was published in 2009 by Douglas & McIntyre, and was nominated for four fiction awards. His new novel, The Doomsday Man, will be published in September 2014 by Goose Lane Editions.
