A Message from Ed Griffin...

For all the local Surrey writers....you will remember Ed is the founder of the Surrey International Writers' Conference. Here is his new endeavour!

You’ve probably heard that Surrey Schools has cancelled all continuing education course for adults. No more guitar classes, Spanish conversation, Punjabi cooking and Creative Writing.

Our creative writing program was the best in the lower mainland. People came from Burnaby, Vancouver, Abbotsford, Port Coquitlam and other communities to take our courses. We are not going to let it die. We have started our own non-profit writers’ school, called Surrey Writers’ School. Instead of going to your local school, in many cases you will find our courses at your local library.

It’s essential that we succeed and that we succeed this fall. Even if you’ve taken all the courses you want, please, please mention our courses to your neighbors, friends and co-workers.

Here’s the Fall line-up:

Many Instructors

We need your help – I need your help. Please sign up yourself for the course you want. Please twist your neighbor’s arm to sign up. Don’t wait until the last minute.

We succeeded in the past because there are a lot of strong and committed writers in our area. Help us prove this again. As Mr. Obama likes to say, “Yes, we can.”
