Thank You!

It's Tuesday afternoon, and I am finally coming out of the post-conference fog. Sort of.

SiWC 2010 is over, the hotel lobby is back to being a hotel lobby, and all our attendees and presenters have gone, back to their families and lives and other commitments.

Thank you to all our attendees for coming, for sharing your ideas, for helping to create the warm, friendly atmosphere we all love so much at SiWC. Several presenters commented to me about the great attendees we have, and I agree.

Do you have pictures and stories from this year that you'd like to share? We'd love to see and hear them. Share links here in the comments or email me at kathychung at siwc dot ca.

Kathy, I've been attending since 2004 and this was THE best conference yet! Many thanks to you for your leadership of a great team, and to all the committee for the extensive planning and work that obviously went into making our weekend so special. I can empathize with the fogged brain... mine is still in overload mode and I didn't have your extra responsibilities to contribute to it.

I've posted the first of my highlights of #siwc2010 on my blog at and will be adding more throughout the week as I pour through my notes and photos.

I have wanted to attend Surrey since I first learned of it in 2002. This was my first year and it most certainly will not be my last. Like a favorite book, the conference presented great pacing, interesting sub-plots, and an amazing cast of characters. Like a great book, it also inspired. I actually came home and wrote That Damned Synopsis. In one sitting no less (no, really, I'm not just saying that). And of course, like a cherished book, even though it might sit on the shelf for a while, you can always take it back down, dust it off, crack it open, and relive the moments. So, thank you and your wonderful cadre of volunteers for a great conference. I know it's not an easy thing to do and especially not an easy thing to do so well.

Thank you.
