News From The Patio

I'm ba-ack! Did you miss me? I was offline for a couple of weeks of holidays. Now that I'm home, the weather is finally starting to hint at being summer-like here at SiWC Central, and for the first time this year, I'm writing a blog post on the patio under a clear blue sky. Lovely!

Registration has been going swimmingly. August 7 will mark two months since we opened our doors, so I'm going to celebrate, because I can, with a book draw. I'll pull a random name or two from the list of everyone who's registered by the end of day on August 7. If you're already on the list, you're in. The sooner your register, the more chances you'll get to have a free book added to your registration package.

Finally for today, I'm so pleased to be able to introduce you to terrific agent Elizabeth Wales, who'll be joining us for SiWC this year.

Elizabeth Wales of Wales Literary Agency, Inc. represents writers of narrative nonfiction and quality mainstream fiction. The Agency currently represents more than 60 award winning clients, including Dan Savage, It Gets Better, NY Times Bestseller; Lyanda Haupt, Crow Planet; Bill Streever, COLD (front cover NYBR); Carol Kaesuk Yoon, Naming Nature, Finalist LA Times Book Award; Jean Hegland, Into The Forest…  Mediabistro has called the Agency “…a discerning Seattle outfit…”  Wales is from New York and worked in publishing there.  She is a member of the Association of Authors Representatives (AAR), Pacific Northwest Writers, and Authors Guild. You can read more about her on her website at Welcome, Elizabeth!

If you've already booked your agent appointment, but think Elizabeth is the perfect fit for you, email me soon while slots are still available and we'll make the change for you. As always, I'm available at kathychung at siwc dot ca.
