Present at SiWC

So you want to be a presenter...

The Surrey International Writers' Conference is renowned for having the most eclectic, interesting and erudite presenters around. Over the past two decades, the list of brilliant authors, speakers, and industry professionals who have presented at SiWC is impressive. If you would like to join their number, here are a few things to keep in mind:

MANY people from all elements of the publishing industry are interested in presenting workshops at SiWC. This conference has garnered its reputation from having GREAT teachers. We are very careful whom we select, and teaching/speaking experience is a must. The final decision is made by our Board of Directors, and invitations are always issued in writing.

If you would like a chance to be considered as a presenter at SiWC, please email our conference coordinator Kathy at kathychung@siwc.ca with your proposal. If you're a writer, be sure to include your name, website, contact information including your location, details about your teaching and publishing experience, and details of the workshops you'd like to present for us. If you're an agent or editor, please include your name, website, contact information including your location, and whether you're interested in teaching and/or sitting on panels or prefer just to take pitches. We'll keep your proposal on file for board consideration when we have openings. Please be aware that we receive a large number of proposals, so not receiving an invitation does not necessarily indicate a lack of interest, but simply that what you proposed was not the perfect fit for the opening we had available. We accept proposals year-round.
