Surrey International Writers' Conference Newsletter
From conference coordinator Kathy:
Lots to report from SiWC Central.
Registration will open Wednesday, June 5 at noon Pacific. Mark your calendars!
We are absolutely thrilled to tell you that we’ve managed to keep 2013 registration rates the SAME as 2012! There will be absolutely no increases on both early bird and regular rates this year. With the recent changes in BC’s sales tax laws, this means the bottom line for you will be lower than in 2012. You can check out the registration options and prices here: http://www.siwc.ca/registration
Our presenter roster is now up on the site, and over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be adding master class and workshop schedule information. Check back regularly! We’re excited about the great list of presenters joining us this year, including an amazing group of agents and editors, authors in every genre, and film, social media, and writing business people, too. Remember, when you register online, you can book your pitch and blue pencil appointments on the spot, choosing the people and time slots that work best for you. The earlier you register, the more choices you’ll have. And with a lineup that includes super-agent Kristin Nelson, bestselling author Jane Porter, and many, many more, getting in the door early is a good plan!
Have you sent your writing contest entry in yet? If not, why not? We offer $1000 top prizes in all four categories, and your $15 entry fee goes directly to support the contest and the conference. Contest information is here: http://www.siwc.ca/writing-contest
In case you haven’t seen it yet, our shiny new website is up at www.siwc.ca. Many many thanks to our webmaster Dale McGladdery and board member extraordinaire kc dyer for their hours and hours of effort in dealing with all the details.
