Michelle Wolfson

Agent

Michelle Wolfson formed Wolfson Literary Agency in 2007 and is actively seeking authors of commercial fiction in the following categories: mainstream, mysteries, thrillers, suspense, romance, women’s fiction, and young adult. She is drawn to well written material with strong interesting characters. She is also interested in practical and narrative non-fiction projects, particularly those of interest to women.

Michelle holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from New York University. Prior to forming her own agency, Michelle spent two years with Artists & Artisans, Inc. and two years with Ralph Vicinanza, Ltd. Before that, she spent several years working outside of publishing, in non-profit and then finance, and she brings the skills she learned there plus a lifetime love of reading to the table as an agent.

SiWC Workshops

Saturday 1:30pm

Back by popular demand, SiWC Idol offers a peek into the minds of agents facing the slush pile. Anonymously submit the opening page of your manuscript if you like or simply listen and learn. The inimitable Jack Whyte reads at random from the submissions pile until our agents stop him when they’d have stopped reading in their offices and then they tell us why. Or maybe, if you're really lucky, they ask for more. This is a tough, subjective assessment and a great learning experience. NB Submitted pages will not be returned, but will be recycled.

FAQ: One page, double-spaced, in a readable 12-pt font will be accepted at the front of the room at the beginning of SiWC Idol only. Submissions will not be accepted at any other time or in any other place, including our registration desk. Submissions left at registration will be recycled when received.
