Stan Wakefield is currently the Editor-at-Large and independent media consultant for Amacom Books (a division of the American Management Association), and simultaneously maintains positions with a dozen different publishers as a literary agent under contract with each to scout and help acquire books in non-trade-genres.

He previously served as both president and head-of-production for feature film production company (and international film distributor), Double Helix Films, Inc., and CEO of Global MediaNet Group, an electronic multi-media production and distribution company based in Los Angeles.

Prior to his entrance into the motion picture and electronic game and "edutainment" industries --- taking a decade-and-a-half hiatus from publishing in the interim --- Wakefield served as an editor-in-chief for Pearson/Prentice-Hall, Inc., where over a fourteen year stint was involved with the publication of over a thousand individual titles in numerous disciplines and differing fields.

Stan is looking to acquire in the following areas:

Psychology (i.e. pop and/or self-help titles in psychology); Parenting - general trade titles aimed at lay audiences, Popular Science (all titles and subjects can be considered --- authors should have a strong background in their subject area along with a respected following and a history-in-writing on their topic); Current Events (general trade titles aimed at lay readers --- open to just about anything in this field by good authors in their respective fields); Public Policy and/or World Politics (general trade titles), plus those that would include the more specialized sub-set of topics dealing with Business-and-Politics; General Business topics; Business Biographies (i.e. both corporate biographies, dealing with the history or profiles of companies in the news, and biographies of individuals who are inherently interesting, well known, in the public eye and which would attract general readers and media coverage).
