Author of the critically-acclaimed memoir, The Measure of a Man: The Story of a Father, a Son, and a Suit, JJ Lee presents an engaging seminar for memoirist, autobiographical novelists, and readers of the genre.
Drawing on his own experience of penning a book considered one of the best works of non-fiction in 2011 by Kobo, Amazon.ca and The Globe and Mail (also a finalist for the Governor-General's Literary Awards, Charles Taylor Prize for Non-Fiction, and a BC Book Prize), Lee will share his thoughts on what makes for strong writing and how to survive the memoir-writing process.
The seminar will involve a short reading, a break-down of techniques Lee uses in writing and an overview of what makes for a strong memoir.
A question and answer will follow.
This workshop is ideal for first-time memoirists and autobiography writers.
