In this class, we will teach the basics of how to write effective non-fiction book proposals and query letters. A good query letter can be critical in getting the attention of a literary agent. A good book proposal is essential for finding a publisher for your book. We will teach the basics of each. A book proposal is a business plan. In order to understand how to write a good proposal, you need to know what acquisition editors are looking for. We will discuss the elements of the book proposal: overview, audience, competitive analysis, marketing,  author bio, the outline, and the sample chapter from the perspective of answering the critical questions that the publisher will be asking. Writing a good book proposal should not be intimidating, if you have a good book project. This class will help you through the process.
