Anna Michels has been at Sourcebooks for more than seven years and is Editorial Director of Sourcebooks and Poisoned Pen Press, overseeing the adult nonfiction and mystery imprints. She worked as a historical interpreter, Norwegian tutor, farmhand, and waitress before building a career in books, and is the author of 26 Kisses, a contemporary YA novel.
Some of her favorite authors that she didn’t publish include Nevada Barr, Tana French, William Kent Krueger, Gretchen Rubin, and Daniel Pink. She is always on the lookout for savvy authors with a deep understanding of the audience they are writing for, a story she has never heard before, and unparalleled writing.
Anna acquires a wide variety of books under the crime fiction umbrella, including psychological suspense, cozy mysteries, and contemporary mysteries in the vein of Two Days Gone by Randall Silvis, as well as a broad spectrum of prescriptive and narrative nonfiction on both historical and contemporary topics.
