Maria Reva was born in Ukraine and grew up in Canada. She has an MFA in fiction from the Michener Center at the University of Texas. Her debut collection of short stories, Good Citizens Need Not Fear, has reviewers comparing her to Nikolai Gogol. Her work has appeared in Best American Short Stories (2017 and 2019), McSweeny’s and Granta. Maria is currently working on a novel. She lives in New Westminster, BC.
