How can we grieve the future while loving the present? How do we praise and mourn at the same time? In this workshop, poet Matt Rader will discuss the intimate relationship between songs of praise (odes) and songs of lament (elegies), how poets have structured this public work in the past, and how we might draw on these traditions to sing songs of our time.
